Co-ordination on a Grand Scale. Standing out from the crowd. In 2008 the IBC exhibition had its most succesful year ever with a record attendance of 49,250. Record attendance also meant record numbers of exhibitors and Whiteoaks needed to ensure that its clients; Pixel Power, Thomson, Hamlet, MSA Focus and Super Hi-Vision stood out from the crowd. Starting pre-show preparations in July, Whiteoaks levereged its close relationship with analysts and journalists to arrange interviews and secure coverage in publication's pre show editions. At the September show Whiteoaks succesfully secured and facilitated more than 70 1:1 interviews and 11 analyst brefings for the three divisions of Thomson alone. This resulted in 88 pieces of coverage in the weeks immediately following the show. Whiteoaks also handled all of the challenging logistics for two large scale press conferences. Firstly, Whiteoaks transported 122 journalists around various locations in Amsterdam for the Thomson press conference held at the Ajax Football stadium as well as developing all content for the event including scripts and more than 20 press releases. The following day the five strong team fully managed the press conference for the world's first demonstration of Super Hi-Vision, the next generation of HD broadcasting. As a result of the packed press conference, more than 100 pieces of coverage were secured in the three months following the show alone. |
